A promise to Sofia

I have become one of Dante’s seven deadly sins, Sloth.
I have become, Jabba the Hut.

I have been a pre diabetic for a long time, and what was sure to happen without change, has finally happened, I have become a full on diabetic.

I’m right on the path to an early death, and I know exactly how I got here!

It’s not that I don’t know the difference between a healthy meal and awful junk food, I actually rarely eat junk food any more.

The reason that things have become so bad is because of overeating. I do that because of trauma, stress, genes, epigenetics, and bad habits, such as irregular sleeping habits, sitting too much by the computer, beer and wine.

My Daughter is very disappointed, and sad. She tells me almost everyday, that I have to take control and be more disciplined.

She says, “Papa, I don't want to lose you too soon. I know you will die soon – Just like Grandpa, if you dont stop your unhealthy ways!”

She goes on telling me, that she will eat even more healthy and start to exercise, if I start doing it too!

She’s eleven years old.

Now let’s asses the damage:

I have waited too long. I’m 42 years old, soon to be 43. Things will only get worse from here on.

I forgot myself along the way, but I can not disappoint my daughter.
She will be devastated if she loses me too soon.

She will remember me with anger if I don't change my ways and live life like it was supposed to be lived, “life, love, family and truth are the only truly incomparable achievements and worth fighting for!”

So I have structured out a plan of execution that involves research, fasting, portion control, exercise, and forcing myself to have a regular 8 hour sleep at the same time everyday, and waking up early.

First things first! I have to practice damage control.

I have to reverse my diabetes and the amount of sugar in my blood.

That's why from today, I’m going to start doing a clean keto diet along with intermittent fasting - I'm doing the so called 18/6. That means, eating in a 6 hour window, fasting for 18 hours. The goal is, to have absolutely no sugar in my body other than what my body produces on its own.

I will then finish the last seven days of january with a water fast.

This will be hard, but my situation needs serious change (I have plenty of fat/energy on this body to accomplish this!)

Now is the time to act, and I will prevail, for myself and my family.
